Arthur C. Brooks Speaks with Youville Residents About the Secret to Happiness

Arthur-Brooks-event-group-6-17-22We were thrilled to welcome best-selling author Arthur C. Brooks to Youville Place on Friday, June 17, 2022, for a discussion about the secrets of happiness in later life. A Harvard Professor and longtime practicing Catholic, Professor Brooks has spoken to audiences across the world about living a happier, fuller life. Drawing from a compelling mix of scientific research and personal experience, Professor Brooks explained how building lifelong friendships and maintaining family bonds can result in a life that is more fulfilling as the years pass – and how we can make better relationships at any age.

Among those in attendance were Youville Place residents Lillian Zebal and Minna Halperin, pictured here with Professor Brooks and Kathleen Kelleher, Director of Mission and Spiritual Care at Youville.

Arthur C. Brooks is a columnist for The Atlantic, public speaker, social scientist, classical musician, and practicing Catholic. He served for 10 years as President of The American Enterprise Institute, before joining the faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School in 2019. His most recent book is Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life.
